Hope Brings Peace

As I watched the TV this morning, I became aware of the great many tragedies that are occurring all over the world. From the point of view of a concerned Christian, it is hard to see such sorrow and despair written all over the faces of the human beings who have lost their families, their homes and their possessions.

Of course it is hard for Christians and non-Christians alike. But who are we to judge? We cannot know the reasons for this. All we know is that God is in control. He knows all the facts – things which may be hidden under the surface.

I have learned so for that things are never quite as they seem, and that all things fit together to form God’s plan. The more we think we understand, the more we discover there are many things that we have yet to learn.

One thing is for certain though. He is going to fulfil His plans for us here on this Earth. Undoubtedly, we are to remain firm in His ways and not give in to fear. Fear as we know, is not from God – it is from Satan. 2 Tim 1:7 NKJV “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

We must remain confident that all things are working together for our good. Our faith is what we have to hang onto during these troublesome times. Faith triumphs in trouble! Romans 5:1-5 NKJV “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

When we see things from this perspective, we are able to come to the conclusion that we are not to live according to what we see. 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” We must rise up above all the bad news that is filtering through to us on a daily basis. This is how we can remain peaceful and not get carried away by our emotions. Philippians 5:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

All things considered, we should try to accept that the final plan for God to bring His glorious new Kingdom to Earth is in place, and we will know such joy and wonder once this has happened! We will be home with our Lord Jesus Christ to the fulfilment of His promise prophesied in Revelation. Revelation 21:10 NKJV “And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, having the glory of God.”

Naturally, we do not know how long we have left. There are many theories out there, and I’m not about to expound on them. Perhaps it is sooner rather than later, sometime in the near future – or perhaps it will happen in another 1000 years! Who knows? But one thing is for sure, God will see to it that everyone who has their names written in the Lambs Book of Life will all be gathered together into His open loving arms, and it will not eventuate until every last soul who is meant to be saved – is saved! So be it. Come, Lord Jesus! Amen.

PS Revelation 21:24 NKJV “And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.” Amen

All praise and glory goes to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, whom I believe as always have guided me with these words herein. Amen.
