Prosperity Thinking

n order to grow in the area of finance, we must look to the Bible for the truth. There are many texts that discuss the principles of abundance and prosperity in the Bible. The first thing we must remember though is that it should be our number one priority to serve in God’s Kingdom. If we make that our goal, then we shall be looked after in the area of wealth too. Matthew 6:33 “Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.”

There are many ways in which to increase your wealth. The ways that I am referring to are the worldly ways. There are many ‘get rich quick schemes’ out there, as there are the more conservative ways like saving, investing and so on. However, with God in charge of our increase, we will come to experience much more wealth and abundance than is humanly possible. Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Our finances are subject to the Lord. He will decide if and when we will be able to enjoy riches during our ‘stay’ here. We need to be grateful for what we already have, and even for the small things, as this will open the floodgates of God’s great big storehouse of blessings. Psalm 35:27 NKJV ‘Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favour my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

The truth is He will reward you according to your level of faith, and also for your obedience to Him. When we live according to His will, this sets in motion all the great many plans He wants to fulfil for us. When we disregard His ways, He is unable to grant us all of our rewards and blessings. Like when a parent says ‘no television until you do your homework or chores!’ Psalm 128:1-2 TNIV “Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”

There is much reward and favour shown to those who wait and hope in the Lord, whilst living lives that set the example of how one should live and act within the Body of Christ. When we are obedient to His laws and commands, His promise is that we may live in abundance and prosperity. Deuteronomy 28:1, 11 TNIV “If you fully obey the LORD your God, and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.....The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity.” So let us be the example that the Lord wants us to be, so that when we come before Him with our prayers and request, we shall be in perfect alignment to receive His favour and blessings upon us and our families! In Jesus name. Amen.

PS Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV “BLESSED is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water. That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.” May you all be shown the path according to His perfect will for you that you may succeed and prosper in all you do.” In Jesus name. Amen.

All glory goes to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, whom I believe as always have guided me with these words here today. Amen.
