Forgiveness Of Sins

When praying in the mighty name of Jesus, we must always ask for the forgiveness of our sins. This opens the door to many opportunities for us to come to terms with whatever is going on in our lives. It gives us the opportunity to understand that many of our difficulties have come upon us as a result of sin. Be that as it may, the Lord is always willing to forgive us and wipe the slate clean.

Do not take this lightly my friends, because what it means for us is total pardon for every transgression that we have ever committed! The Lord is our friend and saviour and He is willing and able to do this for us as we live according to His word; and because of His great love and mercy for all of mankind.

It is written in Hebrews 10:17 “I will not remember their sins and evil deeds any longer.” This means that we can approach God with a sure heart, knowing and trusting that we have indeed been purified from all of our sins. He will not remember them anymore! Wow! This is available to us today all because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.

He died so that we may be set free from sins. It says in Romans 3:24-25 “24 But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free. 25 God offered him, so that by his blood he should become the means by which people’s sins are forgiven through their faith in him.” God’s love and forgiveness for us is such that we may become free of all the restraints of sin and the effects it can have on our lives.

If we only want goodness in our lives then we must face whatever is hindering us in our walk, and then submit it to the Lord. He will cover it with His blood and lay it at the foot of the cross. From this, we become sanctified thus enabling us to walk unhindered on the path that God has chosen for us. It is written in Romans 4:7-8 7 “Happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned! 8 Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of!”

There are many who believe that we must not live by faith, and that we should only act upon what we see in the cold light of day. This is apparent in many lives of those who do not consider themselves worthy to receive God’s love and mercy. This is unfortunate for them as they will miss out on their true inheritance.

We are all worthy to receive God’s love, and it is given to us all freely. How? By our faith in the one who loves and protects us. Romans 8:31 says “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We know that God is for us by the many blessings we have already received. We know that God is for us by giving us the gift of His precious Son Jesus. And we know that God is for us by the great love and mercy He offers His people.

How do we obtain His mercy? By having faith in the one that supports us in our time of need. By trusting and believing in His written word and in all of His promises given to us in the Bible. We must be confident of His love for us and go to Him with all our prayers and requests. He knows what we need before we even ask Him. He knows you so intimately that He even knows how many hairs are on your head!

It is written in Hebrews 4:16 NKJV “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” He wants an intimate relationship with His children and He wants us to come to Him in our time of need, just like a child will go to their Earthly parents for help, love and support. So, when you do pray to your Father in Heaven, ask Him for forgiveness of your sins, and you will be able to step foot upon the path to life.....Amen.

All glory goes to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit whom I believe as always, have gifted me with these words today. Amen

PS Jesus tells us that we must ask our Father in heaven to forgive our sins in the famous ‘Lord’s Prayer’ that is prayed in churches and homes everywhere across the globe today. Matthew 6:12 NLT “and forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who sin against us.” Amen.
